Nurture WV is a community-rooted initiative dedicated to strengthening families and building protective, trauma-informed communities across West Virginia. Founded by Leah Peck, BSW, LSW—a former foster parent and advocate with years of experience supporting children and families impacted by Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)—Nurture WV was created in response to the overwhelming challenges caregivers face when navigating complex, often isolating systems alone.

Nurture WV believes in the power of lived experience, peer connection, and community-based solutions. Our mission is to help every parent, caregiver, and child feel supported, seen, and surrounded by a village that nurtures resilience and generational healing.

 

Our work is structured around two distinct, yet complementary, operational arms. The first arm, Nurture WV Inc., is a legally recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to community education and social impact, funded entirely by grants and donations. The second arm, Nurture WV (a sole proprietorship), focuses on providing expert, fee-for-service consulting and contracting for our clients.
